DIY Christmas Snowflake Candle

There’s something deeply calming about lighting a candle on a quiet winter evening. This year, I poured a simple candle into a snowflake-shaped mold and filled it with one of my favorite seasonal blends.

When I lit it that night, the whole room softened. The scent, the glow, the stillness, it was exactly what I needed!

This DIY Christmas Snowflake Candle is perfect for cozy nights, thoughtful DIY gifts, or just a small act of care for yourself. It’s beginner-friendly, uses natural ingredients, and offers that extra touch of comfort we all crave in winter.

Why Make Your Own Candles?

When you make your own candles, you know exactly what’s inside. No synthetic fragrances or questionable waxes, just soy wax and essential oils.

I love candles and wax melts but know I need clean ingredients to help keep our family safe and healthy. Making my homemade candles has been such a fun project for me.

Soy wax is clean-burning, plant-based, and easy to work with. Essential oils add beautiful, natural aromas without overwhelming the senses. And when you pour it into a snowflake mold, it turns into something truly special.

How to Make a Snowflake Candle

This recipe makes one medium-sized candle:

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Melt the soy wax in a double boiler over gentle heat, stirring occasionally until fully liquid.

Remove from heat and let the wax cool slightly (to around 125–130°F). This helps preserve the therapeutic qualities of your essential oils.

Stir in the essential oil blend of your choice.

Attach the cotton wick to a popsicle stick or wick holder and center it over your mold.

Slowly pour the wax into the mold, holding the wick upright.

Allow to harden overnight at room temperature.

Once fully set, gently remove from the mold and trim the wick to about ¼ inch.
