DIY Candy Cane Bath Salts

My kids absolutely love candy canes, and they were always a favorite of mine growing up. So when I started getting requests to make some candy cane themed recipes, I was so excited!

I went away making a candy cane sugar scrub, bath bomb, and even a lip balm! It was so much fun, I knew I needed to make some DIY candy cane bath salts to create as a gift as well.

If you’re looking for a simple DIY that brings joy to both body and spirit, these DIY candy cane bath salts are it. It is such a simple recipe I had to share!

Benefits of the Ingredients

You can use a variety of salts for this recipe. I chose to use dead sea salt, and it’s one of my new favorites for the bath.

Dead Sea Salt is known for its ability to soothe tired muscles, improve skin hydration, and support detoxification. It’s a lovely base for bath salts, especially in winter when our skin tends to feel dry and achy.

It is so full of minerals, your body will love it!

You can add in some Epsom salts if you want or even Himalayan salt as well for more benefits.

To use: Add about ¼ cup to warm bath water. Soak and enjoy the festive, minty-spiced goodness.

Notes:

  • Start small with the mica powder. If you use too much, it can stain your bath tub, especially if there is soap suds already stuck on the sides.
  • Play around with the different salts to find a blend you like best!

Candy Cane Essential Oil Blend

I personally LOVE the Winter Spice Essential Oil Blend from Far & Wild. It smells like candy canes to me! But, if you want to mix some essential oils to create your own blend, try:

  • 6 drops Peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops Vanilla oleoresin
  • 2 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
