Rose tallow face cream is a luxurious, nutrient-rich moisturizer that’s perfect for dry or sensitive skin.
Tallow, derived from rendered animal fat, closely mimics the structure of human sebum, making it incredibly effective at moisturizing and repairing skin.
When paired with rose-infused oils, this cream becomes a powerhouse of hydration and anti-inflammatory goodness.
Why Tallow is Amazing for Skin
Using tallow for skincare is giving your face everything it will need.to glow and be smooth. It contains:
- Vitamins A, D, E, and K that nourish and repair skin.
- Essential fatty acids that mimic human sebum, making it deeply moisturizing.
- Anti-inflammatory properties to soothe redness and irritation.
Whether you have dry, aging, or sensitive skin, tallow delivers hydration without clogging pores.
I’ve been so impressed at how soft and clear my skin is after using tallow! I may never go back!

Rose Tallow Face Cream Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to craft your own rose tallow face cream:
- ½ cup rendered tallow
- Rose petals
- Jojoba oil
- ¼ cup rose infused oil
- 10-15 drops geranium essential oil
- 1 oz containers
How to Make Rose Tallow Face Cream
Crafting your own tallow face cream may sound fancy, but trust me, it’s SO easy!
Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a moisturizer you’ll love:
Instructions
Place rose petals into a clean glass jar, filling it about halfway.
Pour your chosen carrier oil over the petals until they’re fully submerged.
Seal the jar and let it sit in a warm, dark place for 4 to 6 weeks. (Yes, patience is key!)
After the infusion period, strain the oil using a fine mesh or cheesecloth to remove the petals.
Add the rendered tallow and your freshly made rose-infused oil to a heat-safe glass jar.
Place the jar in a double boiler and slowly heat until everything is fully melted. (Microwaving works too, but keep an eye on it and go slow!)
Stir gently to combine.
Once the mixture has slightly cooled, add your essential oils.
Stir to distribute the oils evenly throughout the mixture.
Pour the mixture into your 1 oz containers.
Let the cream harden completely before sealing the lids.
Notes
- You can use rose essential oil, but it is so expensive. Geranium is similar and smells so good! Any other essential oils will do.
- This turned out to be a bit runny for me. I think I will add a little less infused oil or add a bit of beeswax to thicken it more. But I do love how easy it is to apply since it’s so smooth!
How to Use Rose Tallow Face Cream
A little goes a long way with this cream!
- Start with a pea-sized amount and gently massage it into your face using circular motions.
- Use it as part of your morning or evening skincare routine. I prefer it at night.
- It doubles as a night cream or a base for makeup.
