What essential oils are good for bath bombs?
There are so many great essential oils for bath bombs. You can really use just about any essential oil, with a few exceptions.
First, you need to make sure to only use safe, good quality essential oils. Organic oils, from Plant Therapy or Mountain Rose Herbs are always my go to’s for essential oils.
Young Living and Doterra claim to have high quality oils, but they are usually a lot more expensive. It is up to you to do your research and find one that fits your lifestyle.
Second, you don’t want to use citrus oils if you plan to go outside. Citrus essential oils are phototoxic and can harm your skin. Just to be safe, you will want to avoid lemon, orange, lime, etc.
Here is a list of my favorite essential oils for bath bombs:
- Lavender
- Rose
- Chamomile
- Ylang Ylang
- Jasmine
- Eucalyptus
- Copaiba
- Lemongrass
- Peppermint
- Clary Sage
- Frankincense

How much essential oil do I put in bath bombs?
This usually depends on how big of a batch you are making. Most recipes call for 8-10 drops of essential oil to add to your bath bombs.
If you are making them for children, it is best to put fewer drops in, such as 4-5 to be on the safer side.
