And it turns out it is SO easy, so I wanted to share this fun rose petal wax melt recipe with you!

Why Make Your Own Wax Melts?
Store-bought or other companies’ wax melts often contain artificial fragrances and chemicals that can overwhelm your senses cause a lot of endocrine problems [source].
By making your own, you control the ingredients, ensuring a safer and more natural scent for your home.
These DIY Rose Wax Melts are completely customizable, eco-friendly, and make excellent gifts for loved ones.
I made these rose wax melts for Valentine’s Day and it was such a hit!

Benefits of Key Ingredients
Here are the ingredients in my homemade wax melts, along with the benefits that comes from using each ingredient:
Soy Wax: Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that burns cleaner than paraffin wax. It’s perfect for homemade projects due to its ease of use and eco-friendly properties.
Essential Oils: Add your favorite essential oil to create a personalized scent profile. Rose, lavender, and geranium are great options to complement the rose petals.
Rose Petals: While optional, dried rose petals add a touch of elegance and beauty to the wax melts. They’re safe to use in wax warmers, as they won’t catch fire. I love how it looks when the wax melts!
Candle Dye Flakes: Customize your wax melts’ color with a chunk of dye flakes. You can skip this if you prefer a natural look, but I liked the pop of color.

DIY Rose Wax Melts Recipe
This recipe makes approximately 7-8 wax melts, if you use the same mold as I did:
Ingredients
- Rose petals
- 1 cup soy wax
- Chunk of color candle dye flakes (optional)
- 1-2 teaspoons Love Simply Earth essential oil
- Silicone mold

Instructions
Using a double boiler, melt the soy wax and candle dye flakes (if using) on the stove. Stir occasionally until completely melted.

Remove the melted wax from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. This prevents the essential oils from evaporating too quickly when added.
Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of your chosen essential oil, mixing thoroughly to distribute the scent evenly.

Carefully pour the melted wax into your silicone molds, filling them about three-quarters full.

Sprinkle dried rose petals into each mold, pressing them gently into the wax if you want.

Allow the wax melts to cool and harden completely. This usually takes a few hours.
Pop the hardened wax melts out of the molds and store them in an airtight container until ready to use.

How to Use
Place a few wax melts in your wax warmer and let their gentle floral aroma fill your space. Enjoy the calming, natural scent without the worry of synthetic additives.

Notes
- If you prefer a cleaner look, you can omit the rose petals. They’re decorative and safe to use, but not essential.
- Any mold for the wax melts work.
- Any essential oils work for this recipe! I used the Love Blend from Simply Earth, but geranium is also a great one for this recipe.
- If you want to give these as gifts or to make to sell them, you might want to use some wax melts containers instead of the silicone mold.
