DIY Pumpkin Face Mask

I remember the first time I tried putting pumpkin on my face. I’d just read about its skin-brightening benefits and decided to buy a pumpkin face mask from a dear friend who was making them.

It felt amazing and really helped my skin, so I tried to figure out how to make my own DIY pumpkin face mask. Turns out it is so easy to make.

It’s quick, it’s nourishing, and it leaves my skin feeling calm and soft, especially after a long week of dry and chilly winds.

If you’ve never made your own face mask before, don’t worry. This one is beginner-friendly and takes just a few minutes to mix up.

Why Pumpkin Is So Good for Your Skin

Pumpkin is packed with vitamins and natural enzymes that support gentle exfoliation and renewal. In particular, it contains:

  • Vitamin A and C, which help brighten skin and support collagen production
  • Beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant that soothes and protects
  • Natural fruit enzymes, which gently dissolve dead skin cells

When you pair pumpkin powder with plain yogurt, you get a creamy base full of probiotics and lactic acid. These help balance the skin’s microbiome while providing additional gentle exfoliation, perfect for a tired or dull complexion.

If you like, you can add a drop of essential oil for extra benefits. I sometimes use a single drop of frankincense or lavender when my skin needs calming, but it’s totally optional.

My Favorite Ways to Use It

I like to use this mask on Sunday evenings after the kids are in bed. I mix it up in a little dish and keep it cold in the fridge for a few minutes before applying, it feels amazing that way.

If you’re new to face masks, I always recommend starting with a patch test, especially if you’re using essential oils. And of course, listen to your skin.

You don’t need a dozen products or a 10-step routine. Just a little care and consistency go a long way.
