Homemade Pumpkin Spice Soap

Bring the warm scent of fall to your skincare with this easy homemade pumpkin spice soap featuring real pumpkin and festive essential oils.

There’s nothing quite like the comforting aroma of pumpkin spice to welcome the changing seasons. This homemade soap blends that signature scent with the nourishing power of pumpkin, all in a simple melt and pour recipe perfect for beginners.

I have loved learning about pumpkins and the powers they have for your skin. I made a pumpkin body scrub that I now use all the time and a pumpkin spice bath salts that I love giving for gifts. So I knew I had to try out a soap too!

It was so easy and is the PERFECT soap for fall, so I had to share with you! Here is my pumpkin spice soap recipe for you to enjoy as well.

Benefits of Pumpkin for Your Skin

Here is why I love using pumpkin in my skincare recipes:

  • Rich in Vitamins A, C, and E: These antioxidants help protect skin from damage, support collagen production, and promote a radiant glow.
  • Natural Enzymes and AHAs: Pumpkin contains fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids that gently exfoliate dead skin cells, helping to brighten and smooth your complexion. One of my favorite reasons for making this soap. It is just the right amount of exfoliation.
  • Zinc and Potassium: These minerals help soothe and nourish the skin, making pumpkin a great option for calming redness and irritation.
  • Hydrating and Balancing: Pumpkin is naturally moisturizing and can help balance oil production, making it suitable for both dry and oily skin types.
  • Supports Skin Renewal: The combination of antioxidants and gentle exfoliants encourages healthy cell turnover, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and promote even skin tone.

Tips & Customizations

  • Color tip: Without mica, your soap will have a natural golden hue from the pumpkin powder. Add orange mica for a deeper fall color.
  • Scent variation: If you don’t have a pumpkin spice blend, a mix of clove, nutmeg, vanilla oleoresin, and a touch of ginger oil creates a lovely, warm scent.
  • Base options: Clear glycerin base shows off the color best, but a creamy white base gives it a more rustic, whipped-pumpkin look.
