Once I realized how powerful pumpkins are for your skin, I was hooked and had to grab some to try it out. I have to say, it’s incredible.
Here is my easy homemade pumpkin body scrub made with REAL ingredients that are so great for your skin.

Why Pumpkin is Amazing for Skin
Here are the amazing benefits of pumpkin:
Brightens Dull Skin: Pumpkin is rich in natural fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which help slough off dead skin cells and promote a healthy glow. This paired with sugar is even better!
Packed with Vitamins: High in vitamin A (beta-carotene), C, and E, pumpkin supports skin cell turnover, fights free radicals, and helps soothe inflammation.
Gentle Exfoliation: The fine texture of pumpkin powder acts as a natural exfoliant, making it great for removing buildup without irritating the skin. It is quite powerful
Moisture Boosting: Pumpkin contains essential fatty acids and antioxidants that help hydrate and protect the skin barrier, especially helpful during dry fall and winter months.

How to Make This DIY Pumpkin Body Scrub
This recipe makes about 5–6 ounces and comes together in minutes! Here is how to make it:
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin powder
- 2 tablespoons carrier oil (I used a calendula infused oil)
- ½ cup sugar
- 14 drops essential oils (4 drops clove, 3 drops nutmeg, 2 drops ginger, 5 drops Vanilla oleoresin)

Instructions
Add your essential oils to the carrier oil and stir gently.
Pour the oil mixture into the sugar and stir to combine.

Add in the pumpkin powder and mix until evenly blended.

Spoon the scrub into a clean jar and enjoy!

Tips & Variations
- Want a vibrant fall hue? Add a pinch of orange mica powder for extra color. That’s what I did with mine in the picture, otherwise it is a dark yellow.
- Try it with an infused oil like cinnamon stick or calendula for a soothing twist. Next time I am definitely trying it with cinnamon infused oil!
- No time to blend oils? Use a pre-made pumpkin spice essential oil blend if you have one on hand. But make sure it is a real essential oil and not a fragrance oil.
