I used to love Bath & Body Works, especially their fall hand soaps. They always smelled so good. But now, I’ve been away from synthetic fragrances for so long, I couldn’t even walk past the store without getting a headache!
So I decided to try out different Fall smells and made a few blends that I absolutely love. When I put them in my foaming hand soap recipe, it was perfect!
Here is a simple DIY fall foaming hand soap recipe, along with 5 of my favorite Fall essential oil blends perfect for this soap.
Why Make Your Own Hand Soap?
Store-bought soaps often contain synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and ingredients that can dry out your skin.
Making your own foaming hand soap lets you:
- Control the ingredients
- Enjoy skin-friendly cleansing
- Embrace the scents of the season naturally (my favorite reason!)
This recipe uses a festive blend of cinnamon, clove, ginger, and sweet orange essential oils to give your soap that signature pumpkin spice scent, without any artificial fragrance.
I know you are going to love it!

DIY Fall Foaming Hand Soap Recipe
This recipe makes one 8-ounce foaming hand soap bottle. Here is how to make your own homemade foaming hand soap:
Ingredients:
- ½ cup liquid castile soap
- 8 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil
- 6 drops Clove essential oil
- 4 drops Ginger essential oil
- 4 drops Orange essential oil
- Water (to fill)
- Orange mica powder (optional, for color)
- Foaming soap bottle
Instructions:
Add essential oils to the castile soap and stir gently to combine.
Pour mixture into your soap bottle.
Slowly fill the rest of the bottle with water, leaving a bit of space at the top.
Add mica powder, if using, for a warm orange tint.
Cap and gently roll the bottle between your hands to mix (don’t shake, this creates bubbles).
Notes & Tips
- Mica powder is optional, but it adds a beautiful fall-inspired color. Be sure to use a cosmetic-grade mica safe for soap.
- The essential oil blend creates a cozy, spicy pumpkin scent, perfect for autumn.
- You can easily double or triple the recipe for gifts or to have bottles in every bathroom.
