DIY Eyelash Growth Serum
I’ve been making this DIY eyelash growth serum since I first began my natural living journey. It was one of the very first herbal DIYs I tried, and I’ve never looked back!
Over the years, I’ve made it for friends, family, and curious neighbors, and every single one has come back raving about the results. So of course I had to share the recipe with you too!
If you’re into simple, natural, and seriously effective remedies, you’re going to love this herbal eyelash serum. It’s made with just three main ingredients, lavender, rosemary, and castor oil, and you can whip it up with things you might already have at home.
No weird preservatives, no mystery chemicals, just pure, nourishing goodness. I know you will love it!

Why These Herbs?
Here’s what makes this little blend so magical for lash growth:
Lavender: This sweet-smelling herb isn’t just relaxing, it’s antimicrobial and helps support healthy follicles, which means stronger, longer lashes over time.
Lavender also soothes the skin around your eyes, which can help reduce irritation or flakiness that might be stalling lash growth.
Rosemary: This powerhouse herb is all about stimulation. It increases circulation to the hair follicles, encouraging new growth and strengthening existing lashes.
Rosemary has long been used in herbal hair care for thinning hair, and it works wonders in small doses for lashes too.
Castor Oil: The real MVP. Castor oil is thick, nourishing, and full of ricin oleic acid, which promotes healthy hair growth. It helps moisturize and strengthen the lashes so they’re less likely to fall out or break.

Herbal Eyelash Growth Serum Recipe
Ingredients

Instructions
Add lavender and rosemary into a glass jar. Pour castor oil on top to completely cover. Let sit for a few weeks, turning the jar every day to help with the infusion. Then strain.

Fill the empty tube with the infused castor oil, leaving a space at the top.

To Use: It is best to use it at night. Put it on like you would mascara. After a few weeks, you should notice longer, healthier eyelashes!

Notes
- Essential oils will burn your eyes most of the time. Many recipes call for it, but I tried once and don’t recommend it. You get the great benefits from the herbal ingredients here 🙂
- Your infused castor oil will stay fresh for about 6-12 months if stored in a cool, dark place. Always give it a quick sniff before using, if it smells off, it’s time to make a fresh batch.
- There’s no need to overthink measurements here. A small pinch of each herb in a small jar (like a 2 oz or 4 oz jar) works great. You want the oil to fully cover the herbs.
- A little goes a long way. One swipe on clean lashes before bed is all you need. Just be careful not to overload the wand to avoid oil dripping into your eyes.
- If you don’t have an empty mascara tube, you can use a tiny dropper bottle or even a clean eyeliner brush and a small glass container.
