2 Natural Blush Recipes
Here are two simple ways to make your own natural blush with nourishing ingredients that won’t disrupt your hormones!
When I first started switching over to natural makeup, blush was one of the products that I really wanted to replace. My daughter loves giving me makeovers, especially with blush on my cheeks (well entire face really!)
Everything store-bought was either full of ingredients I couldn’t pronounce or it just didn’t work the way I wanted. That’s when I started playing around with my own mineral makeup bases and natural colorants.
Now, this DIY blush is a staple in our house! It’s easy, customizable, and leaves the skin glowing without any synthetic ingredients that I try my best to avoid.
Whether you prefer a solid cream blush or a soft powder version, both are quick to make and can be adjusted to match your color preferences.

DIY Solid Blush Recipe
This cream version glides on effortlessly and melts into the skin for a natural flush. I love using it on cheeks and even lips for a soft pop of color.

Ingredients
- 2 drops essential oil (optional – rose geranium are beautiful for skin)
- ½ tsp red mica powder
- 1 tsp DIY Mineral Makeup Base
- 1 tbsp mango butter
- ½ tsp cetyl alcohol
P.S. All of these ingredients are in the DIY Makeup Kit from Simply Earth! Use code KATE10 to get 10% off the kit!

Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the mica powder and mineral makeup base until smooth and uniform.
In a double boiler, melt the mango butter and cetyl alcohol until fully liquified. Allow it to cool slightly.

If using, add essential oils to the melted mixture.
Pour the liquid into the powder blend and stir until completely combined.

Transfer into a small tin or compact and let it cool and solidify.

DIY Powder Blush Recipe
If you prefer a silky, buildable powder, this version is for you. I like keeping this in a small jar since it can get quite messy.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp red mica powder
- 1 tbsp DIY Mineral Makeup Base
- 2 drops essential oil (optional)

Instructions
Mix the mica powder and mineral base thoroughly, making sure there are no clumps.

Add essential oil if desired and stir well.

Store in a small jar, or press into a metal pan for a compact version.
