DIY Rose Petal Salve Recipe

First, you will learn how to make rose oil from dried rose petals. This rose infused oil recipe will then be used to make the salve.

Following this rose salve recipe will make about 6 to 8 ounces.

Instructions 

  1. Make a rose-infused oil by adding rose petals in a glass jar with a carrier oil of your choice. This recipe uses olive oil, but any will work. Let sit for 4-6 weeks in a dark cupboard. Then strain your oil.

  1. Pour the infused rose oil and beeswax into a glass container and heat up in the microwave in 30-second intervals. The double broiler method works as well. 
  2. Add in the pink mica powder and mix thoroughly. 
  3. After you have your desired color, add 20 drops of sensual essential oil.

  1. Pour into the tins and let sit overnight or until it fully hardens. Then, enjoy! 

Notes

  • You can infused your roses into any type of carrier oil. The best oil to infuse rose petals will all depend on what your goal is. If it is for a rose face oil recipe, avocado oil or jojoba oil are great for the face.
  • Mica powder is completely optional. I liked showing the pink color in the pictures, but you definitely don’t need it.
  • You can use any type of essential oil. I chose the sensual essential oil since I absolutely loved the smell and it was fit for a rose salve recipe! Pure rose essential oil is very expensive, so this was a great option for me.
