DIY Pine Oat Bath Soak
I absolutely love the smell of pine needles. That was my favorite part about Christmas, the tree brings in the scent all day long.
When I discovered the benefits of pine needles, I tried to come up with as many recipes as I could that involve them. This DIY pine oak bath soak is a family favorite during the holiday season!
We have made an oatmeal milk bath that we all love and use weekly, but this brings in the smell of Christmas that brings joy and peace to all of us!
Now I keep a few jars of this on hand, especially as the weather shifts and my body starts to ask for slower evenings.
Here is how to make your own, as this homemade pine bath soak is perfect to give as DIY Christmas gifts!

Benefits of the Ingredients
Pine needles are gently stimulating and wonderfully aromatic. They help clear the mind and support tired muscles. Just a handful brings the energy of a deep forest walk to your bath.
Oats are incredibly soothing for the skin. They soften bath water, calm irritation, and leave your skin feeling silky and nourished.
Epsom salts offer a boost of magnesium that helps relax muscles and support your nervous system.
Coarse Himalayan salt adds a beautiful mineral blend and helps draw out tension and toxins.
Pine essential oil (if you choose to use it) enhances the aroma and deepens the foresty vibe, but the pine needles alone are lovely too!

DIY Pine Oat Bath Soak
Here is how I made this incredibly easy DIY pine bath soak:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Pine Needles
- 1 cup oats
- 1 1/2 cups Epsom Salt
- 1/2 cup Coarse Himalayan Salt
- Glass Jars
- 5 drops Pine Essential Oil

Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, add 1.5 cups of Epsom salt.
Add 1 cup of oats and gently mix them together.

Stir in ½ cup of coarse Himalayan salt until evenly combined.

Add about ¼ cup of chopped pine needles and give it a good stir.

If using essential oil, add 4-5 drops now and mix again.
Spoon your soak into clean glass jars. Label if you’d like, it makes a beautiful gift!

To Use
Add ½ to 1 cup of your bath soak blend into a warm bath. You can place it directly in the water or scoop it into a muslin bag to avoid floating bits. Soak for at least 20 minutes!
I like to keep a jar of this by the tub all winter long. When my kids are fussy or the air feels too dry, I’ll run them a warm bath with a scoop of this blend and sit close by with a book.
Sometimes I’ll use it for my own bath at the end of the day, because it is one of my favorite smells!
