DIY Muscle Relief Roller Bottle

A few summers ago, I spent a full day on my feet, carrying a baby on my chest all day long. It felt amazing at the time, as I love the baby cuddles and getting things done, but by evening, my shoulders and lower back were begging for relief.

That’s when I reached for my homemade muscle roller bottle. I had just finished infusing helichrysum flowers in hemp seed oil, and blending it with a few essential oils turned it into a little bottle of magic.

Whether you’re sore from gardening, carrying babies, or just the daily tension that comes from modern life, this DIY Muscle Relief Roller Bottle is a simple and powerful way to offer your body some comfort and support.

Here is my recipe so you can enjoy it too!

Herbal Benefits for Sore Muscles

Let’s look at the healing ingredients in this blend and why they’re so helpful:

  • Helichrysum: Often called “immortelle,” this golden flower is beloved in herbal medicine for its anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. It helps reduce bruising, swelling, and soreness. When infused in a carrier oil, it becomes a gentle but powerful remedy for aches and tension. It soothes my muscles unlike anything else!
  • Hemp Seed Oil: A lightweight, non-greasy oil that’s rich in omega fatty acids and skin-soothing compounds. It’s a perfect base for massage and roller bottles, especially when working with sore, sensitive skin.
  • Peppermint Essential Oil: Offers a cooling, tingly sensation that can help distract from pain and increase circulation.
  • Lavender Essential Oil: Known for its calming effects, lavender also works beautifully to ease muscle spasms and support relaxation.
  • Ginger Essential Oil: Warming and deeply supportive for chronic tension or tightness, ginger adds a touch of fire to this blend.
  • Black Pepper Essential Oil: Another warming oil, black pepper gently stimulates circulation and helps deliver the other oils deeper into the tissues.

It’s basically like an icy hot but in a roller and not a cream!
