14 Best Soap Molds for Making Your Own Soap
Want to make your own handmade soap but don’t know what soap making supplies you need?
Here is your ultimate guide on finding the best soap molds and other supplies to help you get started on making your own DIY soap!
What can I use for soap molds?
You can really use just about anything for molds for soap. Some people reuse things they have at home to save money, such as a lined pringles container, milk cartoon, PVC pipe, boxes, and so on.
If you are using something from home, you need to make sure it is cleaned properly.
Personally, I prefer to use silicone molds as they seem to work the best for me. I prefer silicone molds for soap making over acrylic soap molds or plastic molds just because silicone is safer and healthier for your family!
But the important thing is to start with where you can. If that is using supplies already at home, go for it! You are still making your own soap and that is what matters.
If you have room in your budget, grab any of these cute molds to make soap down below!
Which molds are best for soap making?
The most common soap molds are usually silicone nowadays. I think they are the best because they are easy to use, can hold the soap shape very well, last a long time, and are very good for you.
How long do silicone soap molds last?
If you take good care of them, silicone soap molds can probably last forever! Make sure to clean them and take care of them and you can use them for the rest of your soap making days. Silicone is super durable, another reason why that’s the only type I use!
Can you use the same soap molds for cold process soap and melt and pour soap?
Yes you can! I always like to start with melt and pour soap to get familiar with it before heading to the cold process, so it is nice to know I can use the same molds for either method.
