I recently have been making tons of new simmer pots. I did a citrus simmer pot that was SO lovely for getting me in the mood for some spring cleaning.
I loved the citrus smell but wanted a bit more floral tones to it. I did make a floral simmer pot, but wanted both flower and citrus smells all at once. And this summer stove potpourri did the perfect trick.

Summer Simmer Pot Recipe
Here is how to make this amazing DIY summer grapefruit simmer pot:
You’ll Need:
- 1 grapefruit
- 1–2 lemons
- 1–2 fresh mint leaves
- 1 tbsp dried lavender buds
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4–6 cups water

How to Make It:
Slice the grapefruit and lemons and add them to your simmer pot.
Toss in the fresh mint leaves and lavender buds.
Pour in the vanilla extract for a warm, sweet undertone.

Add 4–6 cups of water, enough to cover the ingredients.
Set the pot on low heat and let it simmer gently.
(Optional) Add a few drops of grapefruit or lemon essential oil for an extra boost. I did this for the second day, but didn’t need it for the first time using this simmer pot!

Add more water as needed to keep the scent going throughout the day. I got 3 uses out of this batch!
