How to Make DIY Loofah Soaps

Place one loofah sponge round into each cavity of the silicone soap mold. If any loofah pieces are too large, trim them to fit using sharp scissors or a serrated knife.

adding loofah in each soap mold

Trim the straw of the fine mist spray nozzle to fit the Perfumer’s Alcohol bottle. Attach the nozzle and spray the prepared mold lightly. This helps the soap adhere to the loofah and removes air bubbles.

Cut 20 ounces of the glycerin melt & pour soap base into 1-inch cubes. Melt the soap in a double boiler or microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted.

Once melted, remove from heat and stir in your essential oils.

Then, divide the melted soap evenly into three separate containers. Add a different mica powder to each container (fuchsia, tiger orange, and pearl) and stir until each soap has a uniform color.

3 colors added to each soap base

To create a beautiful swirl effect, pour two different colors simultaneously into each mold cavity. Alternate between colors for a variety of designs. If needed, reheat the soap briefly to keep it pourable.

Lightly spritz the tops of the soap with Perfumer’s Alcohol to remove bubbles and give a smooth finish.

Allow the soaps to cool and harden completely before carefully removing them from the mold.

For a polished look, wrap each soap in the Soap Wraps provided. Secure the wrap with tape and finish with the recipe label over the small gap.

How to Use Your Loofah Soap

Wet your skin and gently rub the loofah soap to cleanse and exfoliate. The soap lathers and moisturizes while the loofah removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and refreshed!

Why You’ll Love This DIY Loofah Soap Kit

The combination of essential oils and gentle exfoliation makes this soap great for dry, dull, or rough skin. It is so nice when I don’t have time for my sugar scrubs.

You can easily swap out essential oils or use different mica powder colors to create unique scents and designs. My kids had a blast making their own fun colors.
