DIY Immunity Shot Recipe
Mornings are pretty chaotic for me. Between getting the kids fed, making sure everyone was dressed, and trying to sneak in my own breakfast, I’d often forget to care for my own body.
But a couple years ago, when I was deep in my own healing journey, I realized how much better I felt when I started the day intentionally, with something nourishing and grounding.
That’s how these little immunity shots came to be. They’re bright, warming, and full of goodness. I make a batch every few days and keep them in the fridge.
It’s become a daily ritual, just one small shot in the morning, but it sets the tone for the whole day! Plus, I can feel and see the inflammation going down in my body. That’s the difference that makes me keep making these all the time.
Whether you’re navigating cold season, feeling run down, or just want to give your body a little extra love, these shots are a simple way to start. Here is my simple DIY immunity shot recipe you will love as much as I do!
The Healing Benefits of the Ingredients
I always like to share the benefits of each of the ingredients in my recipes:
Lemon: Lemons are packed with vitamin C, which supports the immune system, especially when we’re stressed or fighting something off. They also help gently detox the body and support digestion.
Ginger: Warming and stimulating, ginger can help reduce inflammation, ease nausea, and improve circulation. It’s a wonderful herb to have on hand during the colder months.
I absolutely love ginger and try to use it daily. It is a powerhouse.
Turmeric: Turmeric is well known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It pairs especially well with black pepper or healthy fats for better absorption, but even without those additions, it still offers a gentle immune boost.
Cinnamon: This warming spice helps regulate blood sugar, boosts circulation, and adds a cozy flavor that makes this shot more comforting than sharp.
Honey: Raw honey is soothing for the throat and has natural antibacterial properties. It also helps mellow out the zing of the lemon and ginger, making this more palatable for kids (and sensitive grown-ups).

How to Make DIY Immunity Shots
This DIY immunity shot recipe makes around 6-8 ounces. I use 2 ounce jars, so it gives me around 3 to 4 jars:
Ingredients
- 2 lemons
- Ginger
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 ½ cup water
- Shot jars
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the pulp.
Pour into a small glass jar or shot-sized containers.
Store in the fridge and enjoy one small shot each morning. I usually drink either half or the entire shot in the morning.
Notes
- If you have fresh turmeric root, use that in place of powdered turmeric for a stronger, earthier flavor. My store isn’t stocked with the root.
- You can adjust the sweetness based on your preference, try maple syrup or stevia if you’re avoiding honey.
- Occasionally, I add in a small carrot or a bit of celery to round out the flavor. It’s easy to customize with whatever veggies you want! I even made a beet shot to help with collagen once!
