2 Ingredient DIY Foot Scrub Recipe

A simple, healing DIY foot scrub to soothe tired feet and soften dry skin. We use it once a week and never have dry feet anymore!

After a long day on your feet, especially barefoot in the garden or chasing little ones around the house, nothing feels better than a good foot soak and scrub.

This DIY foot scrub is one of my favorite ways to care for hardworking feet naturally. It takes just a few minutes to make, and the results are instant: soft skin, relaxed muscles, and the grounding scent of whatever essential oils you choose to add.

I’ve used this scrub after long hikes, late nights, and even on mornings when I just needed a little moment to myself. My husband loves to use it consistently to help keep his foot calluses away, and it makes all the difference!

Here is this super simple homemade foot scrub recipe to try out.

Why These Ingredients Work

Here is a little bit about why I chose each of these ingredients and how they help with feet health:

  • Himalayan Salt: Packed with natural minerals, this salt exfoliates rough skin and helps improve circulation. It’s especially effective on heels and the balls of the feet especially since it is a little more rough then regular salt.
  • Carrier Oil: This brings moisture and healing. I often use herbal-infused oils for added benefits like calendula-infused oil to soothe cracked skin or arnica-infused oil for tired, achy feet.
  • Essential Oils (Optional): Peppermint adds a refreshing tingle, lavender soothes both skin and senses, and eucalyptus helps ease swelling or inflammation. Use what your body is asking for. I personally like to always add a it of tea tree essential oil to help with fungus.

Ingredients

Directions

First, grind your Himalayan salt into a fine or medium powder, depending on how exfoliating you’d like the scrub to be. I usually aim for somewhere in between, not too rough, not too soft.

In a bowl, mix the salt and carrier oil together until fully combined.

Add the essential oils, if using, and stir again.

adding in the essential oils

Scoop into a clean glass jar with a lid. Store in a cool, dry place.

How to Use

After a warm foot soak or shower, massage a small amount of scrub onto your feet in circular motions, especially on rough spots like heels or toes.

Rinse with warm water and pat dry. I like to follow up with a nourishing tallow balm or body oil for an extra soft finish.
