There was a study done in 2017 that showed that turmeric can even help slow down hair growth! Women put it on their armpits and over time, their armpit hair growth slowed down [source].

The exact time frame all depends on your body, and turmeric won’t get rid of hair completely, but it’s worth a try!

9. Helps with Mental Health

Some people enjoy the smell of this spice and it naturally calms them down. Few studies have been done with turmeric in relation to depression and mood swings with painful periods and have found some success [source].

Side Effects of Applying Turmeric on Face

There is one major side effect of applying turmeric on your face: it may leave it yellowish or orangish.

Turmeric is known for its bright orange color, and it does leave some coloring, depending on how much is in your soap. That is the only downside that might happen. But, if you use a small amount of turmeric, it shouldn’t make a huge difference.

How to Use Turmeric Soap on Face

Find an organic turmeric soap, or make your own! When you wash your face, morning or night, simply replace your other face soap, with the turmeric one!

When you try a new product, always make sure to test it on a patch of skin, like the forearm. If your skin doesn’t react, you can start using it everywhere!

Rub it on your face and rinse immediately. Depending on how much turmeric powder was used in the bar soap, you might have to rinse again if your skin is orange-tinted.

Recipe Notes

  1. You do not have to use any essential oil if you do not want to. I liked the smell of grapefruit with the turmeric powder, but it is all up to you! Tea tree essential oil would help with acne!
  2. You can use any mold you want! I used these floral ones because I love the way they look, but even a simple box mold will work out great.
  3. I sometimes will keep my soaps in the mold overnight to firmly set, but at least two hours should be plenty of time.
  4. I chose a goat milk base because there are countless goat milk turmeric soap benefits. I love the way goat milk helps my skin, but there are plenty of other options including aloe, glycerin, shea butter, and more. Find one that works with your skin!
  5. Make this recipe organic by using this organic melt and pour base, along with organic turmeric powder, and organic essential oils from a company you can trust.
